BIOGRAFIE:    

Ger van Gerven (1947-2008)

Van Gerven studied Economics, worked as a teacher and from 1988 as a full-time artist. From 2001, his own "Schoenmakers Gallery", named after his mother, regularly exhibited his paintings and sculptures, as well as work by artist friends. For Van Gerven, painting was more of an intellectual process, art as a way of life, critical of society and his own work. It is unmistakable, however, that a deeper emotion is hidden behind his abstract works.
